Privacy
Last updated October 7, 2026.
The short version: no ads and no tracking cookies on this site. An account is free and optional. If you make one, we keep your email, what you save and your thumbs. Otherwise we keep only the feedback you choose to send.
What stays on your device
Your settings (women's or men's, budget, event, style, colors, stores and which boxes are on), the pieces from your last 50 spins (so a reload shows you new ones), your thumbs and the tips you've already seen are saved in your browser's local storage, along with the day of your first visit and which weeks you've visited (for visit counts, below). If you sign in, it also notes your email, so the page knows to load your account. These don't leave your device. Clearing your browser's site data removes them. After the bot check (below), a pass for your thumbs and visit counts stays in your browser's session storage until you close the tab or 12 hours pass. It says only when it ends, not who you are.
Accounts
You can use Spin the Look without an account. If you make one, we keep your email, when you joined and last visited, which weeks after joining you came back (to count how many members return), the pieces and outfits you save (a copy of each piece's name, store, price, photo link and product link, plus the settings an outfit was spun under), your thumbs, and whether you said yes to emails. We don't keep a password, your IP address or a device ID.
To sign in, you get a 6-digit code by email or continue with Google. Codes are sent by Resend, which gets your email address to deliver them. If you continue with Google, Google tells us your email and your Google account ID, and its privacy policy applies. The code form has a bot check (below).
Signing in sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in on that device for up to a year after your last visit. It's for sign-in only, not tracking. Signing out removes it.
We use your account to show you what you saved, to tune your spins with your thumbs, and to see how many people use the app. We email you about your account, like sign-in codes. We send news, new looks and deals only if you said yes, and every one has a way to stop them. You can change your answer in your account.
To delete your account, sign in, tap the account button at the top, then Delete account. That deletes your email, saves, outfits and thumbs on every device, right away.
Feedback you send
If you send feedback, we save your rating and reasons, your note, the email or handle you add (optional), your settings at the time, the outfit on your screen, how many spins you'd done, your screen size and the time. We don't save your IP address or a device ID. We use feedback to improve the app and to reply when you ask. To have a note deleted, send another note asking us to.
Thumbs up and down
When you tap a thumb on a piece, we save which piece, up or down, the box it was in, and your settings at the time (women's or men's, budget, event, style and colors). We don't save your IP address or a device ID. We use thumbs to improve the spins and the stores. Your thumbs also stay on your device, where they shape your next spins. Without an account you get 3 thumbs. With one, your thumbs are also kept in your account, so they follow you to any device.
Bot check
The code form, the feedback form and your first thumbs tap of a visit without an account have a bot check, Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at signals from your browser to tell people from bots. It also runs once a visit without an account, so our visit counts leave bots out. Most people see nothing. See the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
Visit counts
We count visits, spins, locks, Shop taps, shares and sign-ups as daily totals, and how many people come back after their first visit. Without an account, your browser sends only those counts and yes-or-no answers, like "first visit" or "came back this week", never an ID, so we can't tell your visits apart from anyone else's. If you came from a tagged link, like the one in our TikTok bio, the visit also counts under that tag. With an account, we also note which weeks you came back (see Accounts).
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies. Cloudflare also hosts the site, and like any host, it handles your IP address to deliver the pages. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
When you tap Shop
You go to the store's own site. Shop links pass through an affiliate network first, so the store can credit us if you buy. The store and the network may set their own cookies, and their privacy policies apply. The link tells them which part of the app you tapped from, such as the receipt or the Halloween event. It never says who you are.
What we don't do
We don't sell or share your personal information. We don't show ads or use ad trackers.
Do Not Track
We don't track you across sites, so every visit is treated the same, with or without Do Not Track.
Children
Spin the Look isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
